Howard Balloch

Chairman

Howard Balloch, a former diplomat, joined the Rotoliptic board in 2021 and became Chairman in 2024. 

 

Mr. Balloch’s first career was in the Canadian Foreign Service, his last post of which was as Ambassador to China.  He subsequently founded a Beijing-based merchant bank, TBG, focused on M&A, investment banking and private equity investing. He has also served on the board of a number of public and private companies, including Methanex Corporation, Ivanhoe Mines and Sinopec Canada.

Sheldon Trainor

Director

Sheldon Trainor, Managing Partner of Hong Kong-based PacBridge Partners, joined the Rotoliptic Board in early 2025.  

 

An investment banker and private investor for more than 25 years, Sheldon has focused on Asia-Pacific and North American markets, covering a wide range of sectors including energy, agriculture, mining, pharmaceuticals, gaming and entertainment. He currently serves on a number of corporate boards and on the Advisory Board of the Sauder School of Business at UBC

Greg Montie

CEO & Founder

Greg is a mechanical engineer, and the founder and CEO of Rotoliptic Technologies Inc. He has 23 years professional experience and 27 patent publications in the natural gas engine, hydrogen power, and clean tech industry.

 

Previous to Rotoliptic, Greg was a Director on the board for PowerDisc Technology and CEO of a previous startup in sales and manufacturing.

Brendan Downes

CMO

Mr. Downes' past experiences and knowledge of the artificial lift industry have been crucial in developing and executing comprehensive business plans and strategies.

Prior to joining Rotoliptic, Mr. Downes provided artificial lift consulting services to Domestic and International new technology development companies, OFS companies and to Private Equity Investors.
